Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Smashes Records

Becomes Biggest Entertainment Launch in the World, Selling $800 Million in Three Days

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II made history as the biggest launch in the Call of Duty series, according to Activision-Blizzard. The first-person shooter game debuted on October 29 and quickly broke the previous record of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, selling $800 million in just three days.

This success also made Modern Warfare II the biggest entertainment opening globally, surpassing even the combined opening of films like “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” The game is available for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.

Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick praised the teams behind the game’s creation and the global community of players who enjoy playing Call of Duty.
